I began my ministry at Pleasant Hill Community Church as a part-time Youth Director in September 1997. After earning a Masters of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, I accepted the call to a broader full-time ministry position that includes oversight of the Educational Ministry objectives of PHCC for all ages. In 2011, God led us in an amazing way to Community Fellowship Church in West Chicago as the Children's Ministry Pastor to shape my passion and love for Families. I am so thankful for the years I've had to serve the Community Fellowship family.
In God's merciful favor, He once again guided our steps along straight paths toward Western Springs Baptist Church (the Village Church) in Western Springs, IL as the Pastor of Family Ministries. I am excited to see how He will grow our love for each other and for this community in order to reach the Families of Western Springs and surrounding area with the Gospel.
I prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of five. When I was ten years old, I recommitted my life to Him. Early in my life I knew that God was calling me to serve Him in full-time ministry. God has gifted me in the areas of Teaching, Shepherding, and Leadership. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I intend to use these gifts to meet the needs of people with the Word of God for the glory of God. My desire is to be effectively used in the service of God and His church.
Rhonda and I were married in Warsaw, IN on December 22, 1995, and we have been partners in life and ministry ever since. Rhonda is gifted in Teaching and Administration. She is a Bible study leader/teacher, a worship leader/singer and musician. In addition to being our primary coordinator of schedules, rides and hospitality, she has worked professionally in marketing, college recruiting, and owns a small business called Wee Heart Music that provides early childhood music and movement classes in the Wheaton area. God has blessed us with amazing children. Our firstborn, Matthew Joel, was born prematurely with multiple defects and entered Heaven in the arms of our Savior only minutes after his birth. Sixteen months later, God gave us Josie. Born in 2003, she is now finishing up her eighth grade year. She loves to read and sing. Benji was born in 2005. He loves to build things, play football and has a host of facts about history and animals in his head. Drew was born in 2007. He typically has a ball in his hands, is a strong leader, and is obsessed with sports of all kinds. We count it a high privilege to lead them through life and help them grow their faith and love for Jesus, and follow Him every day.
We have extended family in Indiana, Michigan, Arizona and California. Both Rhonda and I have two siblings each and are thankful for the loving, Godly homes in which we were raised. We thank God every day for all He has given us. WE ARE SO BLESSED!
